ok, so someone suggested that we go all debaty... so here it is... lets argue!! lol but just keep in mind that everybody has their own opinions and NO personal attacks in this thread. lets just have some fun.
First question... do you think Clark should hurry up and choose who he wants to be with... and who should it be?

I guess that's a tough one, since we know Clark doesn't end up with any of the characters in Smallville. Lana and Lex are still in the comics, but Lana's married to Pete (although that's looking kinda shaky at the moment) and Lex is all evil and stuff (but he and Superman do still have their little 'moments' together, which I'm a *huge* fan of).
But if we concentrate on Clark's time in Smallville, and forget about Metropolis and Superman, then I kind of think Clark should wait a while before jumping into anything. He's dealing with all these new powers and learning about his alien heritage, and really, adding more stress to that is going to send the poor kid crazy.
Of course, that doesn't make for good television, so okay, I want him to walk over to Luthor Manor and....*remembers PG rating* Yeah. That would make good television. *g*

I personally think that Clark doesn't know what he wants and should take a step bAck... I agree completely that his life is to screwed up lately as it is. in which case I think he should TELL these girls instead of leading them on with relationships he can't handle at the moment.

Hmm, I'm not sure how successful this debate is when I agree with you. Yeah, Clark isn't ready for anything. I think in his own indirect and secretive way, he's tried to tell Chloe that...but Lana? I guess Lana is one of the tools Clark uses to make himself feel normal (because having a crush on the pretty girl next door is kind of expected in a 16 year old boy, right?). Clark sees the normal kids play football and have girlfriends and he really wants to fit in. But, if there's one thing Lex can teach him, it's that being different or special is actually a good thing, and he should use his uniqueness to his advantage. Ultimately, Lex will use his for not-so-wholesome means, but Clark will combine what he's learnt from Lex with what he's learnt from his parents, and become Superman.

Yeah but lex is telling him to go for Lana. Something i gotta agree with. Just go for it clark, she wants you! Look, he doesnt end up with any of them so he might as well go for Lana cause he has really got it for her bad. He needs to get it out of his system, release some of those dangerous hormones racing thru his body. Plus she is a glamour. well it doesnt hurt anyway
He might be confused but that is no reason to do nothing. Hesitate and one is lost. carpet dium clark!
It is typical though you girls think he shouldn't go for any of them. dont sit on the fence! c'mon!
As for lex he is too much for even lana to handle. I think they need to bring in someone like angilie jolie to play his love interest. dont get me wrong i think kristin is hotter but jolie is someone you describe as sex on legs! He also possibly needs two women and jolie isnt adverse to that either from what i hear.
Anyway if you could have any power of clark/superman what would it be and why?
for me its nothing supernatural. its the power of surprise. they dont see him coming. his enemies underestimate him to their ultimate peril! He's unexpected, he's different, he's clark kent!

Anyway if you could have any power of clark/superman what would it be and why? lol typical?? ok, so just because we know that he doesn't end up serious with any of them anyway, that means its alright for him to have some fun now and play with these peoples emotions?? and what's this about Lex needing 2 girls!! lol... I think thats part of the reason I like him in the first place, he's such a strong character on his own that he doesn't need that glamor to be interesting... that is one thing that always bothers me about shows, characters always seemed shaped around who they are or are not with... well get over it! God, love interests or not characters should be able to stand on their own two feet and have a personality, and a point for existance BESIDES been in a relationship. Like, imo supporting characters in Smallville are TOO based around who they are to Clark... Lana is literally just there to be the girl next door, Pete is JUST the best friend etc... well I think its time these characters got a bit of backbone, became GREAT whether or not they are relevant to the end Superman story or not. Grr... I would personally love to see them all fly solo *pardon the pun * for a while and get a stronger less predictable group of supporting characters and suprise us a bit instead of just following this already extremely laid out story. i mean, yeah this is gonna happen, but not for a while! so why not slow down and let them all have some glory for a while... OK, now I can't even remember what my point was... and I truly don't think I'm making any sence so um... lol... ok shutting up now:) oh yeah!! the pwer question... I WANT to FLY!!! grr... *loves the sky...

There you go thats better! a bit of constructive criticism. i liked it alot. you are probably right, pete and lana could be much stronger characters. and you are definitely right that people shouldn't be defined by who their partner is. but i think thats more a life problem than a tv show issue.
as for clark just having fun with relationships, i see your point but he is only 16, he has got to do it sometime in life. better now than later in life i.e. with lois and while saving the world. i wasnt talking about playing with their emotions. their is a distinct difference in what i was saying. he should explore his emotions and see where it takes him. while he still can. good comeback though, it made me laugh.
As for lex i wasnt saying he needs two women. i just think he is very complex and i have yet to see a female character in tv or film strong enough to match him. if anybody can think of a character strong enough to mix it with him and why, let me know. obviously excluding yourselves!
any way look forward to your response!

Heh. He really doesn't need a girl for that - Jonathan gave him that scarecrow for target practice, remember? But I seriously think that Clark has been taught to hesitate his whole life because he's always been stronger/faster/whatever than everyone around him. He has secrets to keep, and that requires some caution. So Clark is probably quite cautious by nature, with very good reason. He *is* getting a little more impulsive under Lex's influence, though. And as for Lex, well, considering I kinda like him *and* Angelina Jolie, I'm quite happy with that idea. *Very* happy. So Lex needs someone who looks like that (dark hair, big pouty lips), who believes in him...is prepared to call him on his crap...wants to spend time with him for being 'Lex', not 'Luthor'...makes him smile...hmm that list reminds me of someone in particular. Oh, yeah! Clark! Superman power? Besides the ability to look that good in spandex, it'd be superspeed 'cause I'm always running out of hours in the day.

I totally agree he needs someone to whip him into shape, someone who's not afraid to tell him what she thinks. As for the Angelina Jolie part I'm not a fan of hers so that doesn't appeal to me. I see that alot of people are saying just go for Lana but part of the reason he isn't is because of Chloe, he doesn't want to hurt her. Personally I think Clark should hold off on the whole Lana thing because I can't see myself sitting through 3 more seasons of declarations of love. In my opinion Clark should stay clear of Chloe and Lana for a while maybe start something with another girl and give us a little break from the typical love triangle. As for what power I'd want..X-ray vision all the way.

I mean I LOVE shipping couples as much as anybody else... but its the little subtle things I like about it... you know, a deep glance, brusing the hair out of their face ect... tv relationships get boring FAST when it gets to easy, and they get together and all that...

Ah yes a long meaningful glance can speak a thousand words but too many can grate on the nerves like with Lana and Clark. I like Chloe's approach she says whats on her mind but also delves into subtle techniques as well.

Pete's lack of screen time is absolutely ridiculous because he is such a great character and deserves to be treated better...so Smallville writers treat him better. That is all. ;D How was that for a change of subject

great! OMG, Pete is such a fantastic character though! I loved him from the first ep when I saw him in the way-too-big football uniform!! ;D And in the very few emotional scenes he's had he's done such a fantastic job. I think the writers realy need to re evauate what they're doing! they're wasting a perfectly good character and ... ""*shuts up before revealing spoiler...* lol...

pete is pretty cool! i think they should keep him as a cool guy to clarks straight laced character.
i was just thinkin about special guest actors i would like to see on smallville and the characters i would like to see them play. now this is mostly just been thinking so i haven't really considered whether the actors themselves would do it.
ive mentioned before that i think angelie jolie should play lexs love interest.
i also think katie holmes would be a good lois lane in her early 20's(not convinced on this one and would like a better suggestion if their anybody has one).
tom everett scott as perry white in his early to mid 30's. too young? what do you think?
