Summary: Chloe finds out Clark and Lana have been seeing each other behind her back. The betrayal is too painful and she looks for friendship in other places.

Prologue
She wasn’t sure how long she had been standing there, It had to have been awhile because she was no longer squinting against the sunlight and the trees had started to cast long shadows across the ground. She watched as they embraced each other under a tree towards the far end of the paddock, it looked like something out of a cheesy romance novel. Chloe hated romance novels. But she had to admit she had never seen either of them more content then they were right now. Clark would brush a strand of hair out of Lana’s eyes and then blush and look away as Lana smiled shyly at him.
It was like a car crash, it tore her heart to pieces to watch but she couldn’t tear her eyes away.
But what hurt the most was that neither of them had bothered to tell her that they were together, Lana had even lied to her this morning when she asked, telling her ‘nothing was going on’ and that they ‘were just friends’. Chloe had believed her.
It was not until Lana’s lips brushed against Clarks that she realised that their friendship was over. How could she be friends with people who could so openly lie to her? The answer was simple…she couldn’t.
