2003 Smallville has won , (MSX) Best Veteran Drama... SMALLVILLE: Most critics would toss out SMALLVILLE as a joke for this category, but yes, we're actually serious. Never has a show, especially when paired with ANGEL, provided so much Wednesday-night dramatic fun. The show has its lows (e.g., incessant misuse of the Kryptonite Freak of the Week), but SMALLVILLE's highs greatly outweigh the former. In its third season, the writing team has, aside from criminal misuse of Pete (or lack thereof, rather), managed to distribute the acting and story load more evenly, spreading narrative butter over the bread that is this wonderful cast. We continue to wonder where exactly Gough and Millar will go after Clark, Lana, Pete and Chloe graduate highschool, but until then, we salivate for each plot-advancing new episode. That is, until we get another episode like "Redux."
