The episode starts with Jonathan and Clark falling from the building. They land in a junkyard and they continue to fight it out. Clark amazed by his fathers powers. Finally after an epic duel, Jonathan tricks Clark into smashing the ring. Both Clark and Jonathan fall to the fall. Clark though recovers but Jonathan is in pretty bad shape.
The next scene is at the Kents. Martha welcomes Clark home and we again see Jonathan struggle. Lex visits Lionel and holds him at gunpoint. Lionel convinces Lex that he wasnt the one that tried to kill him, but it was Helen instead.
Morgan Edge visits Smallville in order to get the package that Clark had stolen from Lionel Luthor. Clark earlier discovered that it had been his own blood and had destroyed it. He threatens Edge to stay away and says that he no longer has the vile.
Clark meets up with Lana who is shocked that he is back as well as his actions in Metropolis. She is upset and especially after Clark says he mighten even be staying in Smallville. (
stupid Clark, stupid)
Lex finds Helen who is shocked to see him and Lex invites her to go on a second honeymoon seeing the first one didnt end quite the way intended.
Clark arrives home and finds Martha and Jonathan tied up with guns to the heads. Edge is there and he says that he cant save both of them at once. Edge wants the vile, and so Clark grabs a meteor rock and creates a deep cut in his arm. From there he pours the blood into a jar and gives it to Edge, telling him that the content in the jar is what he is looking for.
Helen dies in the plane after she tries to kill Lex again after Lex discovers the truth after doing some digging/investigating.
Edge takes the sample to Lionel Luthor, and then offers him the source of the blood. He orders his men to stick Clark in the truck and bring him to Lionel. Fom inside Clark blows up the truck and Lionel accuses Edge of trying to kill him.
After that all is happy. Lex buys the farm for the Kents so that they can remain there. Meanwhile Clark tells Lana that they can only be friends because its not going to work out.
Rasso's Thoughts:
Again, a well thought out storyline that doesnt involve a freak of any kind. Once again, a character from the comics who is threatening Clark. I liked this episode cause Lex was back in Smallville and he and his father had some good conversations once again.
The Clana scenes were once again really good. The weekly Clana is my favourite and this episode it was hard for us emotional fans. First Lana says shes not sure and then Clark says it aint gonna work. Once again Im disappointed with Clark.
I enjoyed this episode once again because of the Edge storyline that was introduced. Great stuff from The Frog (WB) this time round.
