Hey everyone.
As you may have known I recieved my copy of the Smallville Season 1 DVD Boxset last October (2003) from Canada.
Just a personal opinion, the DVD packaging for the Canadian version is much better than the Australian version.
The Season One DVD Set has all 21 episodes in the series from the Pilot through to Tempest. Each episode is presented in Widescreen Format and the Audio is in 2.0 I think.
The episodes look great in widescreen and the great thing about the DVD set is that Australian viewers can see for the first time what was cut out of the episodes by Channel 9 to make the show PG.
** I will make a list of the scenes that were cut out shortly **
The special features disc is also a good assest especially for those fans who didnt buy the 1 disc Smallville DVD which featured the Pilot and Methamorphisis episodes.
The special features include:
* Pilot and Metamorphosis Deleted Scenes and Commentary.
The deleted scenes provide some interesting backgrounds but are scenes that were not crucial to the episodes. The commentary gives good background on how the shots were down and interesting facts about how the show was developed etc.
* A Story Board to Screen Documentary for key action scenes.
An interesting few minutes of storyboards turning into the final scenes.
* Smallville Trailer/Fearless/Tarzan Trailer
A short trailer for Smallville Season 2 entitled 'Smallville Sizzles'
Tarzan & Jane and Fearless trailers for new WB series.
* Interactive Tour of Smallville
A basic tour of Smallville. Select different key locations and there are 40 second mini videos describing each place.
* DVD Rom content
*** Some of the special features such as trailers may not be on the Australian version of the DVD, released in Australia on Dec 3 2003.
